Happy Anniversary To Us!

This picture was taken when we were dating just moments before we left for the "Gold & Green Ball" our singles' ward put on. This night is especially memorable, because it's the first time Preston told me he loved me. I mean, who wouldn't love me. I was lookin' good.

POST Post

Preston might be mad about this post, but I am undeterred. I need to give the boy props for doing well on the POST test he took last week. There were 4 different sections, one of which was...MATH!!! Preston hasn't done math for a while, so he was doubting his skills. It turns out all his worry was for nothing.

Well, I have pictures to show you people, but I can't find that blasted cord that hooks the camera to the computer. In the past week or two, we've been to a family reunion in Idaho, to the Deer Valley Music Festival, and to St. George to take the mother to a birthday dinner and visit precious McKay. Also, I got a picture of this ginormous banana split we ate tonight at Leatherby's. When that camera cord shows up, ya'll will be the first to know. I'm sure you can't wait.

51

Preston and I were invited to go to a 51s game with some of his co-workers. I'd never been to a game, sad to say. It was loads of fun. Because the 51s scored over 10 runs in the game, everyone in the stadium got a coupon for a free shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate in the Fremont Street Experience. We all made sure we got our shrimp after the game. Good times!

More Lazy

Oh, I almost forgot this picture. We're in the lazy river here, as you can see.

San Francisco Treat

Preston and I added a little two day trip to San Francisco on top of our already weeklong vacation. While we were there, we walked along Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39, visited the aquarium, saw some sea lions, ate tasty seafood dishes, visited the sourdough bread factory, drove down Lombard St, rode "The Duck", visited the Golden Gate Bridge, went for a little hike, and went to Alcatraz.

That's Alcatraz behind me. Our trip to "The Rock" was the highlight of our day. It's funny; people used to steal money to come here, and now people pay money to come.

What ever happened to predictibility? The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV. Everywhere you look , everywhere you go, there's a heart, a hand to hold onto.

We're practicing poses for our modeling portfolios. In the last photo there, the model allowed the photographer to direct the shot; otherwise, the picture wouldn't have been half as lovely.

We're so cool. Seriously though, it was 50 degrees and windy. Perhaps I should thank the wind, however, for providing us a fogless picture. Cool! Oh yeah, that's the Golden Gate Bridge (for those of you that grew up in a cave).

Preston and I went for a ride on "The Duck", a bus/boat tour vessel. It was quackerrific!

Here we have our quackers ready to go.

What does this retaurant serve?

Weeeeeee're driving down Lombard Street.

Reunion Fun

Preston and I attended a family reunion in Sacramento. Preston's mother's cousins own the place; therefore, we got to play in the arcade, ride the slides at the waterpark, play laser tag & mini golf, drive go-carts, and eat unlimited snacks free for 2 whole days!!! As you can see, Preston is enjoying a less stressful version of "Deal or No Deal".

Here we are in the water park when it was closed to the public, allowing only the family reunion attendees to ride the slides and float in the lazy river.

Here Preston is in the highly coveted #22 (one of the fastest).

Does it look lined up?

Mo' Canada

This is Cameron Falls during heavy rainfall. I wish I had a sound effect to go with this picture.

Here's another picture of Preston's parents' ranch. If you look real close, you can see a Canadian flag flying in the center at the top of the hill. Seriously, click on the picture to get a closer look.

Yes, that's a flower in my hair, and there is a bull behind us.

These are just a couple of scenic ranchland shots (obviously).

O Ca"neigh"da

Preston and I rode horses today. It was super fun. I've been saying that I probably won't think it's as fun when I get up in the morning (assuming I actually can get up). We rode for a couple of hours.
I believe I was singing a song here. Perhaps it was "The Sound of Music" or the theme from "Bonanza", but more than likely it was "Shoo Fly, Don't Bother Me".
Here is a lovely shot of me, gracefully making my way down the hill on Windy, my favorite horse.
Here's another beautiful photo of the river. I do so love the wonderful views at the Porter farm.
Here we are again atop our trusty steeds.

Here's something I've not seen a horse do (until today). Windy rolled over several times in order to get a good back scratch after our long ride. Thanks for the good times, Windy ol' boy!

Bodies

On Friday, Preston and I went to "Bodies The Exhibition" in Las Vegas. For those of you who are unaware of the display, I will briefly explain what we saw there. They had full (preserved) bodies showing muscle, bone, and organ layout as well as individual organs. One room showed head parts, another room showed "guts", and another room showed babies in various developmental stages. Also, there was a room that showed only the veins and arteries the lead to specific organs, such as the heart or kidney, as well as the veins and arteries of the entire human body. They showed a clean, healthy set of lungs and a smoker's lungs, and the difference was astonishing. For that reason, I have decided not to smoke. Anyway, this visit to the exhibit gave Preston and me a greater appreciation for the human body and for its divine creation. We're not going to eat as many chips.

Decked Out

During my little vacation at home this past week, Preston and I decided to work on making our deck a little more fancy. We finally got rid of our old kitchen table we'd been storing out there, thanks to a rapidly responding Craigslist user. It's been a gradual effort over the past year. We've been growing grass (as you see there in the corner of the bottom pic), and I assembled a glider we purchased at the end of last year's outdoor season (on a stupendous sale, of course). We got rid of the remaining junk, threw up some curtains and wall-hangings, and bought a little grill. Preston has been a grilling fool this past week, and I now realize what a wonderful investment that grill is, upon having meal after meal prepared by Preston. Ahhh! The pictures really don't represent the feeling of joy we have when we're out there, baking in the 110 degree weather we've been having. Perhaps it'll be October before we realize the full comfort potential this deck has to offer. Maybe we need to invest in a couple of misting fans? Yes, let's!

Trip to SLC

Preston and I ate at the Lion House Pantry while in Salt Lake City this week. As you can see, we decided to eat outside, in the garden, and it was such a lovely day. Also, the food was so tasty!

Also while in Salt Lake City, or Woods Cross rather, we attended my cousin's wedding dinner. Now that was some tasty food! The decorations were also terrific (see below). As you can see in this picture, Preston is paying close attention to the dinner program, unaware of the camera. Oh yeah, and that hanging flower ball was made with real flowers. How about that?

Surrey

This is Preston's latest interest. He's been looking at many different websites, including e-bay and craigslist, to find the best buy on one of these for our enjoyment. He knows, of course, that I'm really not into his obsession-for-the-day purchase idea. He can dream though, right? They do seem pretty fun, but what are the chances we'd actually ride around in this thing unless we lived in Mayberry or Claremore, Oklahoma. Perhaps if it had fringe, like the one pictured above, I'd consider it. Actually, I'd consider it 10 years from now if we have extra garage space and an extra 3,000-4,000 dollars (which is what they cost, brand new).
